Not Rotisserie Chicken

Rotisserie chicken is very convenient,  but sometimes it’s hard to find one that is gluten and msg free.  Thankfully is very easyto make in a crockpot and cheaper as well.

 

Instructions:

1 whole chicken

1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons paprika

1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder

1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme

1⁄2 teaspoon dried basil

1⁄2 teaspoon white pepper

1⁄2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper

1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons olive oil

 

Directions:

Rinse chicken and pat dry. In a bowl, combine spices and rub over entire chicken. Rub part of it underneath the skin as well, but try to leave the skin intact. Place it in a greased or lined slow cooker and drizzle olive oil evenly over the chicken. Cook on high for 3–31⁄2 hours or on low for 4–5 hours. Save the carcass to make chicken stock later.

    Rotisserie chickens have gluten in them? No wonder I itch afterwards.

      Many times they prepare them with barley malt and some use flour in their spices.
